Pilings are used in the construction of buildings and other projects when the soil cannot support a structure at a shallow depth. Pilings are driven into the ground until they hit bedrock, meaning they are a “deep foundation” structure.
Types of Piling
H-Piles
Provides weight distribution over a larger area which helps larger structures.
Pipe Piles
These piles are driven capped or uncapped and filled with concrete. They are round in nature and remain in place due to friction with the soil.
Sheet Piling
Sheet piling or Z-Piles, are long continuous structural sections designed to create a continuous wall.
